Welcome to LuPus Patients Understanding and Support at HealthUnlocked.

MTX is known for its side effects in tablet form, causing nausea and sickness. The injections are better tolerated. I was on MTX for many years and the body needs time to adjust to it. How long, is difficult to say. I was forced to stop taking the tablets because of the vomiting and loss of weight. The injection is far better tolerated.

If I understand correctly, you only started the injections on Thursday, so it’s early days. Fatigue is common.

These other symptoms of dizziness: monitor all symptoms. Keep a diary and report symptoms to the doctor on your next appointment.

With good wishes,

Ros

I chose to do the injections weekly to avoid the GI effects. Taking 0.6 cc.- (15mg) Has been about 10-12 weeks now. Uses a little tiny needle and very minimal sting from the medication. Tolerating them pretty well, but I do have periods of fatigue and dizziness. I hate the dizzy part most of all. Usually the day after the injection is the worst day. However, there is hope. It has gotten quite a bit better since My rhuematologist upped my folic acid oral tabs to 2 mg per day. Now if I sit down and rest for a bit, I’m good to get up and do things again. I feel for you as I can’t imagine dealing with 3 young children and these autoimmune diseases. I wear a mask when I go shopping or to a gathering, and to meetings. Covid seemed to precede all these health issues and it is still making the rounds. Two friends recently got it again flying. Take good care of yourself!

hi thank yous both so much for reply, I am glad to know that you had the dizzy head also I thought to myself is this really possible, I took my folic acid on Saturday and felt the dizzy head not as bad so I will definitely keep up with the folic acid, yes mask a good idea, I have a sore throat today I hope it doesn’t work into anything 🤦‍♀️ covid is very much here aswell, life is busy but I have learned over the years housework can wait and to always have a handy frozen meal in the freezer :) thank you & you also
