I can understand how frightening lupus nephritis sounds and it can be serious. However, there has been a great deal of progress in the last 20-30 years, both in terms of diagnosis and treatment. It is not possible to give information in general terms as only her doctor can tell what is going on. The worst case scenario would mean no kidney function and therefore would need dialysis or a kidney transplant.

I must reiterate, that lupus nephritis can be treated and treated successfully by lupus specialists and experts in kidney disease.

I sincerely wish this person a speedy recovery. LUPUS is common among women during their child bearing years. With good care by a lupus specialist, there is every good reason to believe that she will respond to treatment.

With good wishes,

Ros
