Just want to ask for information on how to cope with a lung cancer diagnosis. The nodules where discovered in 2018 after going for a CT scan for chest. I have had MRI scan and PET CT scan. I am waiting for the results of lung cancer CT scan staging. I have three nodules, 2 in the left and one in the right side. One is 3.2cm, the other 12mm and other is 8mm. They are all in the lower lobes. I am really worried and not sure how I will cope with this. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Pipido, Sorry to hear your news. However I had a pneumonectomy back in 2012 I lost my whole right lung. My point is that is 10 years ago,and I am fine. When I first found out I felt numb, and it took a while to sink in. Over those 10 years there has been a lot of developments in how they treat Cancer. Even the surgery has been improved. I had open surgery, but about 5 years ago I met one of the cancer surgeons who said it would be key hole surgery now. All I will say is if you have a lung cancer nurse specialist keep him/her close. They are so helpful with reassurance , sorting appointments, explaining what happens and a contact not just for you but your family too. Macmillan are also a good source of support. Stay strong, stay positive and trust your consultant. 🙂
Thank you very much for the information. O felt numb and confused as well. As I also have a lot other health issues, I'm scared things wot going my favour. I will try to stay positive and gather more information about it. Thank you again and stay blessed. X

It is so hard Pippi I was diagnosed in August last year, I was numb with shock as it was picked up by accident having a scan on my bowel. It's one tumour measuring 3cm diameter roughly in lower left lobe.Things happened really quickly referred to Christie's in Manchester. Started immunotherapy that didn't work for me, so always bare that in mind if one thing isn't for you they will try another.
I've had a bit of a time but doesn't mean you will. Immunotherapy caused diverticulitis so planned chemo on hold. Had first out of 4 then Started with bad back so needed a CT scan as I have osteoporosis too, came back ok but last chemotherapy on hold again.
I think you will have a much smoother ride than me, think mine was just unfortunate. And don't forget if one doesn't work there's plenty of other options. Like Jillygirl says still here after 10 years!
