My wife is not eating as much as before the lung cancer, but lost 7 pounds in the past 3 weeks, I am wondering if it is due to the Cancer she has not started treatment yet She gets very tired very quick after a shower, getting dressed etc wondering if it is her depression and or from the cancer

Fatigue and weight loss
Dear Enair
Sorry to hear that your wife is not feeling too good, it could be either reason, but what we would advise is to let the GP , Lung cancer nurse specialist or oncologist know, she may need to be assessed prior to her treatment, especially if this is just a new thing.
It is understandably a concern for you and do put your mind at ease and ask one of your health care professionals. It could well be emotional weariness and everything is too overwhelming for her, but would be good to have her checked out.
If you would like to discuss anything you can either email ask the nurse at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our free phone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200 Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1600
Kind regards

Hi. I lost about half a stone before and at the start of my treatment. I soon put most of it back on. I found I'd lose 3 lbs or so straight after chemo but would put it back on before the next treatment. Since my diagnosis I have had less energy, but not too bad. I guess you just have to be kind to yourself. I have accepted that things are not what they were but do my best then rest up .Good luck.

Dear EnairI'm sorry to hear your wife is losing weight. I hope your doctor / nurse has been able to give some good advice. I know there are high energy / high nutrition drinks that are often prescribed for people struggling with weight loss.
