Hi everyone. Is there anyone on a targeted therapy that has had the Covid vaccine?
I’m not sure if you’re allowed to have one if you’re in treatment with targeted therapy and I still haven’t had a call for an appointment even though my GP practice had started contacting the clinically extremely vulnerable.
Any experience or knowledge would be much appreciated. Many thanks x

This is an excerpt of the guidance, which would place you in group 4 which is those over 70 and clinically extremely vulnerable.
"It has now been confirmed that group 4 includes cancer patients who are about to undergo, are currently undergoing or are in follow up for non-surgical cancer treatment. All other cancer patients – including people who were treated a long time ago – are in group 6. " CRUK 28/1/2021 (see above link).
Your specialist will determine if you have the vaccine before, during or after treatment an it would be advisable to discuss it with them or your lung cancer nurse specialist.

Thank you, it’s reassuring to know that others on the same treatment as me are getting the vaccine. I guess I just need to be patient and wait for my call.
Different areas are getting through their target groups at different speeds - sometimes affected by the weather impacting staff getting to the centre - but in general, most are achieving their targets and in some cases going faster. my partner (68 with diabetes) was called on Saturday with an appointment for yesterday early evening (Sunday) and had it with no problems. hopefully you'll be contacted soon...
Yes thanks you’re right of course about different areas. I did think that although I’m clinically extremely vulnerable I’m only 47 so maybe I’m not so high up that list. Who knows!
Age is irrelevant if you are on the clinically extremely vulnerable group as these are being invited in category 4 so hopefully you'll be contacted soon - if you received your shielding letters from the government or your GP practice, you'll be on file to be called. If you've shielded to protect yourself but don't fit the exact criteria of CEV, then it maybe that you're in category 6. hope this helps.
