Pains months after radio

Has anyone had radio then months later had pains related to it. My radio finished in March after 30 zaps. As time goes by I get more pains yet I flew through the radio treatment with not many side effects.

I had a scan a few weeks ago and my Oncologist said everything was ok and the pains is due to the radio. The pains are in my neck and side and it runs through a nerve and vein it will never go away and will always show on an X-ray. Has anyone else had the same please as no one seems to mention after pains.

Dear Kalilou2

It can be normal to have pain or skin sensitivity after Radiotherapy. Having radiotherapy sessions can be the easier part, however the radiotherapy dose builds up in your system which sometimes can give you the extreme tiredness or pain after your sessions have finished.

It may be nerve pain that you are having, which will not show up on x-ray, however perhaps re discuss with your Specialist or GP if you are not having enough pain relief.
