I have had my last (fingers crossed) treatment but was surprised to learn that the radiotherapy can keep working for several weeks after the course of treatment!! This means that you have to wait 8 to 12 weeks before any further tests or scans can be done! So will have to wait a while for my results.........so far feeling ok but tired which is apparently normal. Will continue to take the advice of my clinicians and await results!

Hello E10ly,

Its good to hear that you have finished your treatment, the next few weeks will be a worry but as you have said listen to the advice off the team which is looking after you. Keep us posted and let us know what the scan results are.

Kind regards

I have an appointment on 3rd January with the oncologist who recommended VMAT be interesting to see what she says as no scan for 8 to 12 weeks! But I must admit that the warning given before the treatment with ‘sunburn’ at the entry/exit site has come true.......unfortunately on my back so itching, but can’t get at it!!! Still a small price to pay. I also unfortunately got a chest infection a couple of weeks ago (again!) but a course of antibiotics has hopefully cleared that!
