Dear Joseph23

Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear you have an ongoing cough. If you have no improvement with any of the medication your GP has prescribed, go back for another assessment.

An ongoing cough can be a symptom of many things, asthma is one of them, especially in the morning and at night. Asthma can have lots of triggers e.g cold air, stress, allergens such as dust, pollen, pet hair and irritants in the air, smoke and strong odours. To get benefit from your inhaler, it has to be used correctly and as prescribed, your practice nurse would be able to go over this with you.

I have placed a link below from Asthma UK providing lots of useful information:

asthma.org.uk/

However, it would be good for you to be reassessed for your own piece of mind, and perhaps ask to be referred to a Respiratory Physician for your cough.

If you wish to discuss anything you can call us on our free nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200

All the best
