Hi my mum was diagnosed with carcinoid Tumor which was removed and staged 4
She has had a gallium scan and pet scan which have shown hotspots on lung consultant says it will be mets from bowel or new primary ?
She's being rescanned this week then back to consultant in fees weeks for reveiw anyone else have carcinoid as well as lung ?

welcome to our forum, I am sorry to hear that your mums recent pet scan has shown hotspots, this will be a worrying and uncertain time for the both of you.
The medical staff involved in your mums care may request further tests which may involve further scans or bronchoscopy and biopsy. It can take some time for all the investigations to be completed, this can be a difficult time and often it can feel like being in limbo until all the results are complete and a treatment plan is offered.
