Could anyone let me know what side effects they experienced for Carboplatin Chemotherapy. This will be the second Chemotherapy I am about to received for SCLC, the first being Etopside/Carboplatin. Just wondering what side effects they experienced.

Hi Claudia. My husband has NSCLC and he was given carboplatin and pemetrexed. He was fine for the first three sessions, then on the fourth he felt nauseous, lack of appetite and very tired. However, as already mentioned, everyone is unique and you may well not experience any side effects. You will probably be given anti-sickness tablets to take, and if you do, you should take these even if you don't feel nauseous. Good luck.

Hi Claudia, I have squamous NSCLC. I have completed 5 cycles of carbo with gemcitabine. Everyone is different, but I have very little side effects. No nausea, some fatigue. The fifth cycle created more fatigue, and I start cycle 6 on Monday. Normally, only 4 cycles are given. Scans show tumour in control. Hope yours goes well.

One more thing. I agree with Glasgow Rangers. Do take all the anti sickness tablets. I certainly did.

Not what you're looking for?
