Yes I had one blast as palliative to my sacroiliac, they think it works as well as a few. It did work although 7 months later I needed more, I was able to have another 5, then no more.

Best wishes

Julie

Hi jaynecarol,

It may be Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS): SRS is a type of stereotactic radiation therapy that is given in only one session. One version of this treatment, a machine called a Gamma Knife® focuses about 200 beams of radiation on the tumor from different angles over a few minutes to hours.

Kind regards

Hi, My hubby had 1 blast of the heavy duty radiation treatment just a few week ago, 3 March 2016.  We go back to the Oncologist this Thursday, 14 April.  Hopefully we will find out if it did anything,  Hubby has Lung Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma we really do hope it helped in some way.  At this stage another dose is not even discussed as an option.
