Can mets disappear completely? or can they only shrink? Chemo has made some shrinkage on my tumours , has anyone gone a long time after chemo before having progression?

Do you have brain metastases? my husband has bi-lateral adenocarcinoma and has a central mass on his lungs and had a lot of smaller lung lesions plus brain mets. After two rounds of chemo virtually all of the small lesions on his lungs had disappeared, but don't know if they would be classed as mets. Sorry I can't be more helpful on this one! No update on his brain as waiting for an MRI on that after whole brain radiotherapy in December.

Hello Giblets9,

chemo can shrink the primary lung tumor, this can also shrink any mets helping to control further growth and keeping mets in remission. Current targeted therapy medications have shown very positive results for those with ALK, EGFR mutations,

there are many people here on health Unlocked who have been in a similar position who have shared their positive stories.
