Tired beyond belief..........

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well and doing better.

Well I decided to go back to work but after a few weeks am so tired, could sleep for my country. Trying to stay working to keep my mind active as I have been told by oncology that they cannot cure me and only looking at keeping me going for as long as they can, wonderful. See oncologist on 19th October and a CT scan booked not long after that, then see the surgeon two weeks after that. Have to go for a PIP Assessment on the 16th October and will probably be told I am fit for work and my benefits will be stopped. This decision will be based by someone who has no idea what we cancer patients go through on a daily basis. Sorry just having a mini rant as feel I have to justify having metastatic cancer to these people.

Anyway hope you are all well and catch up soon.

Love and hugs Elaine ❤️ xxx ❤️

Oh Elaine, I am so sorry you feel so rough and having to go to these people who, as you say, haven't the foggiest idea of what you're going through. You have been so positive before so try to think good thoughts, easy for others to say I know.

Really there's nothing other people can say so I'm sending lots of love, hugs and prayers for you tonight.

Thanks Lorna, just feel as if my get up and go has got up and gone. Hopefully I will be back to my cheery self soon but thank you so much for the love, hugs and prayers.

Hope you are doing well and that life is treating you good.

Lots of love and hugs xxx ❤️❤️❤️ Elaine

Elaine, try applying for ESA employment supplementary allowance, as long as you have enough years worked you should automatically be accepted and only need one doctors line confirming your cancer status. I'm sure it's paid for 6 months or longer in some cases.

Try and rest when you can.

Rab.

Thanks Rab the link worked perfectly. Going to finish this contract and then take time out and take an Art class to relax me.

Hope you are feeling better.

Hugs Elaine xx

It may also be worth discussing your concerns with your GP and seeing what he is able to do to help. My GP sent a letter to the DWP to support my case.

My GP is the same, since my diagnosis I always try to see him so that I have got continuity of care. It just makes things so much easier. Glad that you have got a good GP. Good luck x

Thanks Frank, spoke to my boss and going to take it one week at a time. Had the stories already but I have just smiled and listened and then went back to work. But I am going to take your advice and live life and enjoy.

Take care and hope you are feeling better 😊 xx

That,s a bloody disgrace you should be allowed a phased return to work and your employer should consider your illness and do their best to facilitate what you can do not what you can,t :are you in a union :if so get them involved they can help you and take some steps to see you are treated in a fair and proper manner. Also if you have a occupational health team they should also be involved. Don,t let them bully you,you deserve better.

wishing you lots of luck and better health Phil
