Hi Jules, not sure if we are talking about the same thing but after my lung surgery, when I was back at home a week later, I was told to cough and clear my chest. Well cough I did non-stop for almost a day. It was when I was going to bed lying down, so maybe I should have been even more propped up with pillows. So I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing.

I wish you well and best wishes.

Hi Jules

that must be difficult to manage. Have you talked to your medical team about whether they can suggest any ways to reduce this side effect? They may be able to suggest exercise, sitting or lying position that help this, or may be able to offer help managing this.

Hope this is not hampering your recovery. In some areas surgical teams offer post-surgery rehabilitation courses (more fun than that sounds!) or can refer to the physiotherapy service for advice. It is worth checking out what other support might help,

best wishes
