11/7 started round 3 of treatments - 3 chemos and keytruda

midway thru initial round of treatment for my lungs ct scan shows tumors are responding have shrunk.

3 tumors. The source 3.9 cm in right hilar shrunk to 3.1.

one lymph node on top of source shrunk 20%. Other lymph node on subcarina shrunk 21%

Drs encouraged. Note great response.

fui…i am dlp-1 neg. Also negative for any biomarkers. Allows dr to use targeted as well as other therapies. Apparently they working!

Final round 4 due early 12/24. Bilobectomy early 1/25.

Lung surgeon notes when he takes out tumors and surrounding lns, he test the tumors. If they fully dead that is big sign that. The cancer dead and won’t come back.

based on current industry results when that is the case the cancer killed the cancer does not come back!!

even if not dead they do extra stuff to help ensure it not come back so still curable.

Dr notes 50/50 chance the test shows the cancer dead.

The curative rate for stage3a after 5 years is not good. However, that includes those folks who were unable to have surgery. Which is a majority of stage3a.

However for some who are in good shape, lungs are clear , not long term smokers, better never smoker, as I am, not old and frail, other than cancer in good shape and in a good position to handle surgery.

Also the uniqueness and the tumors where they are all go into wether one is a good candidate for surgery.

With all due respect since I am fortunate enough to be a candidate for this option. I prefer to focus on this and the positive prognosis.

I been thanking god my cancer and my health, my outlook etc allow me to have surgery and my lung onco and lung surgeon not only agree but instead they tell me this. They very confident that we can cure this. My surgeon seen and cured this very situation before.

He will be performing robotic assisted surgery rats on 1/2.

Don’t misunderstand I not underestimating my challenges, battles. However, I wil reman focused on the objective, curative end here and willing to sacrifice whatever necessary to get there.

At this time that is the plan, hopes. No reason to deviate.
