My husband appreciated this site. Reading everyone’s experiences gave him hope and knowledge, and he was thankful to members on this site who replied to his questions/concerns during his one year battle with Stage IV NSCLC. After losing their dad to NSCLC about 3 weeks ago, my kids (ages 10, 13 and 15) want to become a lung cancer volunteer or get involved in lung cancer-related volunteer activities. Although they could not help their dad, they want to help others who are fighting this disease. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you!

Bless you and your kids for wanting to make something positive out of the loss of their dad to lung cancer. I'm deeply sorry for the pain and heartache that this has caused you but also deeply impressed that they want to take action and get involved.
The Go2 Foundation has several ways they can help raise awareness and money for research. There are virtual 5k events, and other Do It Your Way events you can participate in. This link will help. go2foundation.org/get-invol...
So sorry for your family’s loss. What a wonderful way to honor your husband’s memory by helping others still in the struggle. Check with your local cancer services and see what ideas they might have for them to do locally. Also, Denzie gave you a good resource to check out. You both have apparently raised fine sons.
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss your husband, so very sorry.
As family there are ways to get involved that Denise mentioned. We have a virtual event happening next month but part of the event raising awareness as well as fundraising. Some families do a walk together, other do other activities like flying a kite, or something that is meaningful to them. In the future, hopefully we can resume some in person events and you and the family can meet others through those events. Here's the link for more information on that: secure.go2foundation.org/si....
Please know my heart is with you and the family right now. Sending you a virtual hug.
