Have you had a recent cough or flare of your COPD? A chest infection? Cold? Allergic reaction? Exposure to pollution? Chemical fumes? Asthma? Any of these things can cause nodules to develop.
Until you have the CT and your doctor sees the results with his own eyes you can’t really tell if it’s benign or suspicious for cancer.
You're right - it could be anything... but good news that your cancer is getting smaller.... inflammation can cause responses on lung imaging from a number of causes so don't fret all your success so far away..... wait until results are known and you discuss with your clinician - in the meantime, get on with living life with the 'what is' rather than wasting time on the 'what if'..... good luck.
Try not to worry too much. Your lung doctor should be able to look at the CT scan and hopefully provide you some answers. Please keep in touch, let me know how you are doing.
In the meantime, focus on the good news, the fact that your cancer is shrinking.
Thank you KatherineK I'm trying to stay in a good state of mind but seems like I keep getting knocked down with one thing or another. Yes the cancer is getting smaller but when doctors do not know what the spots are it really makes you wonder.
Trying to stay positive and praying everyday.
Thank you agaain,

Thank you everyone for the positive out look. Yes the cancer is shrinking but now I sit and wonder if a doctor does not know what theses new spots are I wonder if doctors know what they are doing anymore. I'm praying its just an infection and the antibiotics will work.
After everything I have gone thru with doctors I sure could use a break. So what ever it is does not matter Texas Oncology knows it is not cancer so I need to try and find a happy medium in my life so I can see my daughter graduate from college.
Thank you again

I'd be reading the opposite into what you're suggesting - if the cancer doctor has never seen anything like it before then it may well not be cancer related..... I found the book 'cancer is a word not a sentence' by Dr Rob Buckman helped me try and put symptoms into context when worrying that every symptom must be cancer related after that diagnosis some years earlier.... hope you get some answers soon and treatment ....
