Adenocarcinoma Recurrence

I have just learned that I definitely have a recurrence of my adenocarcinoma from my LLL lobectomy 2.5 years ago. PET scan and brain MRI next week. Then we will know whether it is stage 3 or 4.

We will plot our course of action at that point. New territory for me.

Best to you all,

Rick

Well crumb! Sorry to read this. Insist on a new biopsy to learn what mutation is driving it. I send hope that it’s one that they have a targeted therapy for so you can skip chemo and radiation. But if it’s not, you know we’re here to help you get through any and all side effects.

Please let us know what you learn.

Denzie,

I think we will probably start with some radiation. We'll see after the PET and MRI. The biopsies can be quite uncomfortable but if needed for a better molecular read then we will do it. I'm asking for a prophylactic radiation of the brain, but the medical folks want to wait until all tests are completed.

Will keep you informed.

There is no giving up at this point.

I am sorry that you are going through this again. I hope they have targeted therapies to try this time. JanetteR57 is right, there are new treatments being developed all the time.
