Technically that’s for EGFR. It’s still in the I/II phase of testing so it has a way to go. One drawback is that the Cuban medical community doesn’t keep records on progression free survival, overall survival and cause of deaths of people who used it. Cimavax and it’s sister drug Vaxira are available outside of Cuba.

This concept of a vaccine that prevents the growth of EGFR+ nsclc is exciting. I’ve been following a gentleman on another website who has been using Cimavax and sharing his travel experiences to obtain it on another patient board for about 8 years.

The man in question also had platinum based chemotherapy and radiation. He claims that the cimevax is what has kept him going and he is wealthy enough to afford traveling to Cuba and South America to obtain it every few months.

Do follow the NY trial at clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/resu...

As you say Denzie, when patients have conventional treatments alongside 'complementary therapies or novel ones, they often claim their recovery is due to the wonder treatment. There are many global trials underway on many compounds, agents and how they're delivered differs from vaccines to tablets to infusions and radiotherapy delivered in novel ways. Without clear managed studies that objectively record all the facts, it can be too easy to be swept along with the hype when many treatments for lung cancer are very specific to a certain phenotype, mutation, etc and the one thing that is for sure, is that it lung cancers are much complex than originally thought hence the need for so many modes to attack it. Worth keeping an eye on the various trials as they report as many do get taken into 'real world' practice quite quickly once the evidence is there. In the meantime, it's wonderful that so many patients are willing to take part in clinical trials for the evidence to be gathered to help others in future. keep the faith...
