It's a bumpy road!

Friends,

It's been a busy 4 weeks of travel and medical adventures. First chemo, then the Lung Cancer Leadership Conference in Atlanta. I got back from that trip in time to go to Phoenix to speak at a Foundation Medicine annual meeting, then vacationed in the southwest with family. Got home, had my pre-chemo blood tests, and discovered that I have kidney damage and high blood pressure from chemo. I spent 8 days in the hospital as a result.

I'm now home and on a cancer treatment break while I adjust to a fistful of new blood pressure drugs and wait to see how much my kidneys will recover. I'm trying hard not to be anxious about my situation. Next week I see my local oncologist and nephrologist, and we shall see what we shall see.

Anita

WOW have you been busy! So sorry to hear about your blood pressure and kidneys. Praying that all goes well, and with the break from chemo your docs can get things back on track. How was the conference? Could you please share what you learned?

Please keep us informed about how you are doing. We do care!

As always, I send hope that this is resolved quickly. And that those kidneys heal fully so you can continue to educate and advocate.

Wow, Anita. You amaze me with your continued advocacy for others and yourself as you roll over so many bumps on the word. Best wishes

Anita, sending prayers and healing energy your way. I hope you get your blood pressure controlled, and that your kidneys heal quickly so you can get back to treatments.
