I just got my results of the scan today and it shows several new spots on my liver. So the chance for cure is gone , he said he recommends we try immunotherapy combination, he thinks that is all around the best option. I knew this day would likely come but I sincerely wish it would have been later on down the road. Thanks to everyone who has prayed for me I appreciate all of your sopport.
Thanks,
RW

RW, I am so very sorry to hear this news. I know how hard it must be for you. Did you decide if your going to try the immunotherapy or not? Maybe it would be worth a shot? That's a decision you'll have to ponder. My thoughts and prayers are going to you.
I am so sad to read this news. SCLC can be very aggressive, but I was hoping you would be one of the lucky ones.
Combination immunotherapy is showing promising results with SCLC, and it looks like the combination is absolutely the way to go with your type of cancer. The NCCN treatment guidelines, which are a kind of bible for oncologists, list combo immunotherapy as a suggested treatment in the second line. I'm attaching an article with very recent research findings.
Once again your doctor is right on top of the latest research. Make sure he fills you in on possible side effects, and make sure you understand clearly when you need to call the office.
I think it's time for another steak dinner with the family - to be together, and enjoy the pleasures of life, and gather strength.
Very sorry to read this but I whole heartedly agree with everything Anita said. They are seeing good results with the combo immunotherapy at this time and there's still a chance you can become NED.
Remember to plan for the worst and hope for the best. Don't stop making life plans. Visit family, work your bucket list. Find something good or beautiful each day.
I am so sorry. You are a fighter and I know you will keep doing whatever is right for you. You are a role model to many on how you have handled all that you have gone through. Sending you a big hug!
I'm so sorry to hear this news. You have some difficult decisions to make and I'm sure you will make the right one for you. Good thoughts and prayers coming your way.
RW, how kind of you to share with us - you know how we wonder and wait to hear.
I am joining the others in saying how sorry I am. Also joining them in encouraging you to trust yourself. Choose what sounds right and go with that. Your doctor does seem right on top of all of this, which is wonderful news. Take your time, make a choice, trust yourself. It is good you have another hopeful option to consider. I am just sorry you have to think about it at all. Caring hugs.
RW - It is very disheartening hearing about progression and the unknown of new treatments but - that is what we do, right? We keep going until we don't. Hang in there because you're still here! Thoughts and positive vibes coming your way.
No giving up, RW! You can beat this- you've come too far in your journey- just a little obstacle, but you've proven you can do it! I'm thinking of you, and stay positive!!!!!
I've had a hard time accepting it this time around. Always before I had a glimmer of hope, but this time the chance for cure is gone. But you are right there is always room for a miracle!!!!!
Yes- there's always room for miracles, but I truly think you're going to beat this. It's a hurdle, you've come so far, and have done incredibly well, don't let this "news" be a determination of everything. These spots can be gone with the treatment they are suggesting. I believe they will be. You're strong RW, keep going! I'm going to ask my Dad in my prayer tonight to make sure he keeps a watch on this! Thinking of you! And again.... don't give in.
Very sorry to read your latest update, this is the news we all hope we never hear and what always causes Scanxiety for each and everyone of us. -- I wish you the very best and do know two gals who are on the Opdivo/Yervoy Immunotherapy Combo and have been for just about a full year now. They both were experiencing progression when then were put on this "Trial" and so are doing well -- both are stable and have not had any serious issues with side effects. I hope you'll continue to have that same experience
I'm also still going to HOPE that the "cure" will come for for us ALL, and very soon! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
RW I know your giving up. But please don,t there's an angel beside you and she,'ll be there for you. Don,t say miracles don,t happen, they happen everyday. What happened to me I wasn't,t supposed live. But look at me the cancer is gone and you can,t say it wasn't,t a miracle because my angel is still by me and she,'ll be there the whole way. So will your angel she,'ll be right there with you. Believe miracles do happen. Love susiejo
So sorry to hear your news. I just want you to know some of your posts gave me the "spark" I needed to carry on. I am praying that the immunotherapy works for you.
