Do call the clinical trial nurse and report it. With some trials and medications a Claritin tablet relieves the ache. Talk to the nurse first though.
Can you tell us what the study name is? Thank you for participating in a trial.
Please speak to a oncology nurse at your cancer center about what happened!! Why don't you have the name of the medicine??? What about the manufacturer?? That seems odd that you don't have the name of either of them!! You should be able to report side effects to the manufacturer at any time of day. Keep yourself safe by getting a list of possible side effects. Someone should have given you one in the beginning.
I am taking Keytruda manufactured by Merck. I have a phone number to call and a list of possible side effects. Ask questions of your doctor and nurses.
I wish you well and blessed by God!! Hope you are feeling better.
Hi Kate, you're right about contacting a nurse but clinical trials have a certain protocol for reporting and there is a nurse specifically assigned to handle these issues.
Because this is phase one of a clinical trial the study is identified only by a number. In phase one they are looking to identify side effects. In phase two they look to learn what the maximum dosage is and in phase 3 they compare it to current Standard of Care.
So glad for you that you can use Keytruda. I've followed the success of that trial for years as I hope to use it when/if I experience progression. Many of us had the title MK3475 (Keytruda) on our lists when we read some amazing things patients were experiencing in the early days.
