This community is such an amazing one!

When my mom was diagnosed back in 2013, I was so shocked at how little awareness was out there, how few support groups, etc... Lung cancer was all new to me & I didn't have many people to turn to for support. Many didn't know what to say or hadn't experienced lung cancer, as a patient or caregiver. People seemed to not really have the compassion, including DOCTORS, because of the stigma associated with Lung Cancer.

My dad was also diagnosed in summer of 2016 -- and finished radiation, after 6 weeks of treatment.

He was diagnosed at Stage II -- and is scheduled for a follow up PET scan on April 3rd. He seems to to be doing well though, all things considered. Still working a part time job (even after he retired, he just couldn't stay home and watch TV) LOL!

The man is a mover!

I wish all of you the best & hope you'll always reach out for help, or when you need some encouragement. If you ever would like to have some prayers said for you or your loved one, please feel free to message me with such.

I'll gladly add you to my prayer list.

I have found this site to be a wonderful place for support and information. We learn from each other and can either give or receive support as the situation suggests.

Welcome. I look forward to your posts as your father's journey continues.

We all hope the scans go well. Thank you for sharing. It sounds like your dad is not going to let this disease get the better of him. It's not abnormal for patients to want to work after diagnosis. It's sometimes therapeutic!

Keep us posted; we hope for nothing but good news!
