Hi Gins, I have not had gout but at my brothers wedding my big toe was so painful i had to remove my shoes all night, I actually thought it was broken, when i went to see the Doctor the following week as my toes was still aching he told me it was being caused by my lymph and that it would get better in time, it took 6 weeks before it cleared up, it has happened another twice since then, so i don't panic now. But i would just get yours checked out to make sure it is gout just in case. Good luck
