Is anyone suffering from lymphedema in Ireland apart from me, feel lonely?
Are you treated in the Emerald Isle? Have you been in contact with either the LSN in London, or MLD Ireland? mldireland.com/ - If you drop a line to the gang there, they may be able to put you in touch with other lymphoedema patients in your area - you won't be alone!
Cheer up your not alone, there are many people in Ireland with lymphedema, there are just not many places to go for help and not too many Gp's are involved with it.I'm from Tipperary town, eventhough I live in London,I have Lymphedema in both legs .I have compression stockings on both legs as my legs fill with fluid quite fast without them.Have no fear that you are alone ,far from it.There areany people in Ireland with lymphedema, there are no help groups ,thats why you don't hear of it.Have a phone around Dublin.Cork and Galway hospitals ,you will be Suprised.
Hi again,
Look up M.L.D Ireland.Registered manual lymph drainage practitioners as of 08_12_2014. Lots and lots of info about Lymphedema in Ireland.
There is also lymphireland.com and they have an open day in March - check it out:
lymphireland.com/awareness-...
if you are close to Dublin there is an excellent therapist called Deborah Fernandes from Body Elements - she is based in Sandyford
We will be at the open day in March.

Have you looked at the Irish websites e g mld Ireland ? I met a lovely lady called tania king who is a mld therapist based in Dublin and has the condition herself
Recently I was looking up lympheodema in Ireland, and I came across a website,Irishhealth.com and found some very startling information. It says there are around 15,000 people with Lympheodema in Ireland, and 1,200 cases are diagnosed every year as a direct result of cancer treatment. If you live anywhere near Cork ,well Cork have a support group and are also on facebook. If you are interested go to Irishhealth.com and look for Lympheodema ' Not on Doctors Radar' there you will be able to see for yourself about lympheodema in Ireland, you are by no means alone.
