Have you tried searching the web? I found some claiming to be extra wide and some sites offer returns. I haven't worn wellies for years but might search out some gents one now. Example site

simplybe.co.uk/shop/wellies...

You may not have any luck, as most wellies are mass produced from pre-cast moulds - i.e. one size fits all. I have a client who runs a livery stable, and she found some wellies that fit in a local agricultural supply store - they were not that glamorous, so she dolled them up with a hot glue gun and bunch of sequins!!

have you tried duo? - not sure if they do wellies though. I needed some wellies for work but impossible to get on so I bought some wellibobs from Joules - little ankle wellies which are fab! - I got mine in the sale for about £12. They go on my fat leg quite easily and still keep your feet dry? I would recommend!

p.s. I think John lewis stock Joules wellibobs too. their website have loads so keep looking as styles always go in the sale

I brought a pair of Crccs wellies this Summer. They are quite expensive but have done me proud. I have them in a size 8 and they are snug, but I can at least get them on. Being Croc as well they are so light so very little weight added to legs. They have stretched a little too, giving just that bit more room.

If you order from a site called JellyEgg the returns policy is easy if you try and they do not fit.

Good luck!

I notice they do them in Evans but i couldn't tell you how wide they are as i have not tried them myself. I managed to get a pair of wide calf ones the other year in stead and simpson had to buy a size larger than my normal shoe size, also some of the cheap high street shops do them. A word of warning though - i brought them to wear in the snow - not a good idea as they don't keep your feet warm and they were not wide enough for extra socks. Wont be doing that again, but were ok doing the gardening at the weekend in the rain.

No idea on wellies but I did get a pair of motorbike boots made with the left one extra wide calf to accommodate my leg. It was Prexport I think. BUT..........I found I could get into standard after wearing a calf length stocking on top of my full length. It puts the leg all out of proportion but I can get standard footwear on....maybe worth a try if you haven't already

I have some of the original Crocs wellies - bright red ones! They're not as tall as the ones they have recently brought out and have plenty of room in them. I have to wear extra thick socks with them to stop me leaving them behind when I walk!
