I would like to know how I can source reliable and evidence based advice about what might be a good and effective low level laser therapy device for home use.

I would too. Did you ever find out? Thanks, Katy

I'm afraid not although I haven't put much effort into trying to find out.

Thanks for replying. I have seen on Jane Wigg's website that there is a handheld laser device for sale. It doesn't give much information about it though.

That's the device I have; my lymphoedema nurse, who'd had some training with Jane Wigg, told me about it. I was advised to use it on my feet to help with resistant patches of swelling at the base of some of my toes. Hard to know if it's helped or not. I haven't used it much recently as I prefer my Physiopod DOT device and there's only so many hours in a day. When I purchased my Handy Cures LLLT device I asked the vendor what evidence there was for it - he said LLLT had helped with a problem his dog had but it wasn't the Handy Cures device he used.

sieden.co.uk sell an LLLT device which they claim is relatively powerful for a home device. It gives in depth details for the specifications. But of course that doesn't prove efficacy.

Hi PeridoSorry for the slow reply and thank you for your helpful response. After emailing you I came across the Physiopod website which sounds very promising. I have lymphedema down the left side of my body which I manage with compression and lots of exercise. However I also have it on my face on my left cheek which I really struggle with.

I like to be being self sufficient and to be able to manage this condition on my own. Have you found your PhysioPod DOT device very helpful? I imagine it would be good working on a small area. I like the idea that it can also be used for cosmetic/natural face lift purposes :) How long do you use it for each day? How long do the benefits last?

I will also check out the sieden LLLT link you have kindly attached, thank you.

Thank you for being so kind and helpful.

Best wishes, Katy
