It will, but it may takes weeks, months - and sometimes, if the infection has been long term, the skin in that area may be permanently damaged.

Keep your limb well moisturised, and give a bit of extra gentle massage time, over the affected area - if you can’t get treatment from an MLD practitioner, there are some useful self-help videos on You Tube.

Yes it will improve. Its scary I know as your sent home but the skin looks like it might come away.

Its had trauma so needs time to recover.

I just phone my GP and he usually reassures me.

Though you must be vigilant as sometimes Cellulitis reoccurs quickly. Sometimes due to not long enough antibiotics.

Just keep moisterising the limb. As often as you can.

Hi, I've had cellulitis three times over the past ten years, always hits me in same spot, front shin, left leg. Last time, November last year, antibiotic drips in hospital for four or five days. Antibiotic till end of December ish. Skin on my leg in affected area, is permanently dark red or purple and very tight but thin, beginning to split and bleed a little in February. Healed now but still I have to treat it everyday with DIPROBASE. The scar tissue, in essence that is what it is now, is apparently permanent . Also very tight support stockings all day...

Keep it protected at all costs. Also I suggest manuka honey applied to area great healing qualities....

Hope this is helpful...
