I'm suffering due to lyme disease and left leg lymphedema.
1. Do you think that my lymphedema may be connected with lyme disease?
2. I'm sitting with my leg elevated most of the time during the day. Since few months I started to have pain in the leg. Now the pain progressed also to my abdomen.
Its a burning sensation and the pain is becoming hard to stand. Its impacting my work unfortunately as its hard to focus...
Does anyone have similar issue?
Please help.

Every possibility there is a link. What came first, the lymphoedema or Lyme's Disease? Where are you being treated? Are you wearing compression for the lymphoedema? Are you in the UK?
Have you been on a regime of antibiotics for the Lyme's?
Lyme was first, I've had the symptoms long before I've had results on my blood tests for Lyme Disease. About same time as I get results the swelling started. I've had 28 days of Doxycycline. Than Buhner protocol for approx a year. Than 10 days of doxy for some bladder infection. I was also on cleansing herbal protocol for 4-5 weeks.
The expert on lymphedema said that Lyme is not the cause, yet another doctor said it could be indirectly related.
Professor Olszewski who is world known expert on lymphatics prescribed be Benzetacil, which is modified penicillin. I'm supposed to take 1.2M units once 14 days for 6 months.
Injection is intramuscular, yet I'm concerned about my gut flora. I've been reading a lot and its crucial for our immunity and health. Yet if the pain will progress I will just take it.
Oh yes, I think I have Lymes for about 10 years, but I started to feel real bad 3-4 years ago.
That I wish to know... My assumption is yes, I have found a brief article that borrelia likes to "reside in lymph vessels and change the architecture of lymph nodes" yet like I said prof. Olszewski said its not likely. He could be wrong though.
yes, Right side glutes
I didn't start the injections of Benzetacil yet. I need an allergy test first, also I wanted to explore how to best preserve the gut flowa.
In Brussels there is a world ‘authority’ on lymphatic diseases - Professor Albert Leduc - also his son Professor Olivier Leduc. They can be contacted via either VUB or ULB. Ask if you can be seen at their clinic.
Actually my massagist mentioned Leduc to me yet it was over a year ago and I was bombarded with info while reading stuff on my issues so I forgot about him. I'll make an appointment.
