Hi Just wondering if anyone else has use one of these to help with swelling legs? I got one second hand the other day at a bargain price so thought id give it a try. Only done a few 3min sessions on it but so far so good.

I attended a support group the other day and in my area they have now got a specialist gym who people with various health conditions can be referred to, and they have just started a programme for lymphedema so hopefully I can be referred there. They also showed a new gadget called Steve (available in October I think) to assist in putting on and taking off pressure garments. It was really good and would be especially good for those who may be less able bodied or who tend to brake their nails when putting on garments.

hope everyone is ok, take care x

Hi all bit of feedback, so far so good have just been doing 3mins at a time on low power and it seems to help as it is a gentle massage action. Ive also got round to watchin the LSN dvd today so plan to start using the massage techniques as well. If you can get one of these cheep enough (mine was second had on gumtree) then it is probably worth it. However I do believe that if you have been unfortunate enough to have experienced cancer or have any form of arthritis then you would need to check with your health care professional before using as I don't think they are suitable.

Hello, are you talking about the vibration plates that you stand on such as the Flabelos? If so that is the only medically registered vibration plate that I am aware of and if you are buying one new you can claim back VAT. I have had one for ages and find it incredibly helpful for keeping the whole of my body toned as I would otherwise not be able to do any exercise because of weather conditions! On another matter, I am very interested in Steve!… I have spinal damage and find it incredibly difficult/now impossible to put on garments from my toes to above my belly button. They are very firm compression. Would you be able to give me a link to any other information about Steve please? Many thanks and best wishes to all

Glad you have had a positive result from the vibro plate. Regarding Steve it's something you will have to ask your nurse about as unfortunately I don't have any other information on it as it was part of a talk at my support group. I do know that it's available from 1st oct on prescription. If I can find any other info I will send you a link

Not sure how to post a link but if you google Steve compression aid there is a picture and description of it on a site called Gloria tights. Hope this helps

I have never heard of a Vibrapower disc. How does it work? Are they expensive?

Hi I got mine 2nd hand from gumtree for about £40, I describe it as something you stand on and it vibrates you from a bit of a wobble to like being in a blender lol. have a look on youtube if you type in vibrapower did you will find people using them to do exercises on but I just stand on mine.
