My Legs are getting bigger and bigger and i have an appointment with the lymphedema specialist in July ,
Hi galtyboi
Never heard of them but found this on wiki - for those wondering.
In medicine, an Unna boot is a special gauze (usually 4 inches wide and 10 yards long) bandage, which can be used for the treatment of venous stasis ulcers and other venous insufficiencies of the leg. It can also be used as a supportive bandage for sprains and strains of the foot, ankle and lower leg. The gauze is impregnated with a thick, creamy mixture of zinc oxide and calamine to promote healing. It may also contain acacia, glycerin, castor oil and white petrolatum.
The Unna boot was named after German dermatologist Paul Gerson Unna.

Thankyou so much for this information ,it's only that i'm afraid things are not getting any better for me at the moment ,and my first appointment is so far away .i feel as though my legs are going to burst and am willing to try anything to stop the swelling, now my movement is restricted i am a prisoner in my own home and that is what i am finding it hard to deal with,as i was always out and about..My Brother told me about Unna boots and was just wondering if it was worth buying them .I thought i would find out about them first .Thankyou once again for your reply.
Please try the pneumatic compression machines - I have found them the only
'saviour' for my mother's legs and almost a 'cure' for mine which aren't nearly so bad.
Haddenham Health make them and another 7 or 8 firms world wide. My favourite is
the lympha press - look on internet for UK distributors. In my opinion for the LD that
my mother and I have everything else pales in comparison.
Good luck and best wishes
This is great news ,i will definitely look them up .I need something to get legs treated as soon as possible as the swelling is getting out of control and my first appointment with the hospital is not until July 11th,i dread to think what they will be like in July if i don't do something now ,thank you for your reply .
Not sure where you live but if it's in the UK you might try to find a local lymphoedema/MLD therapist on the MLD UK site.

Good luck
Happy to help. Good luck.
