Do inhaled corticosteroids increase heart rate? I am on Breo and find that my already substantial anxiety has increased as well as my heart rate. Has this happened with anyone else?

inhaler and heart rate
Corticosteroids — both systemic (IV and oral) and inhaled — do increase pulse rate, sometimes considerably. Anxiety is also a well-known side-effect of them, frequently worsening underlying problems.
You need to discuss these and any other side effects or problems you notice with your physicians. It will help if you try to keep a log of when you take the medication and when you notice and onset or worsening, or improvement of symptoms. Some formulations are tolerated better than others — sometimes it requires considerable trial and error. At other times, you may need other medication to control the side effect if the benefits from the inhaled steroids outweigh the side effects.
Good luck!
My heart rate increases with all my inhalers (Symbicort, Spiriva, and especially Ventolin).
