For the past two months I have been having issues with sinusitis, allergic rhinitis and a productive cough. Never in my life have I ever experienced something so persistent. Went to allergist and had PFT and it was in the 70’s % . Doctor gave me a sample of symbicort to use twice a day. I am also using Flonase . I am also on metoprolol succinate ER for high blood pressure and it also helps with paroxysmal a fib that I get occasionally. I started to use the symbicort and it makes me feel very anxious and jittery. Also my throat is irritated and a lot more mucous when I use it. I am quite concerned because I read that there could be a conflict with metoprolol and symbicort. Has anyone ever heard or experienced any interaction between theses two meds? .

Symbicort and metoprolol
My pulmonologist just put me on Symbicort and it makes me very hoarse and my throat feels irritated. I also use Flonase. I was diagnosed with Asthma two years ago. I have been on Breo, Advair, Annuity, and they gave me a sample of Dulera which it really helps me. I have to try the Symbicort before my insurance will pay for Dulera.
Do you rinse you mouth afterwards.
Hi Beasley, I am sorry that you are dealing with some side effects of symbicort. I just started using symbicort 2 days ago and I am experiencing headaches, throat irritation and when I use the inhaler a few minutes later I get this odd feeling in my throat and I cough up some mucus. I am not sure that symbicort is going to work for me as I am on metropolol a beta blocker and apparently there is some conflict . I also haven’t been diagnosed with what’s been happening to me. I go for the second round of allergy testing next week and my coughing has gotten better . I also have been using Flonase but not helping much. I hope things get better for you.
Ask the doctor about thurst. It can cause pain. Does you mouth and or throat. It is the same thing that babies get. Good luck
I also use symbacort and take metoprolol but I guess didn't seem to feel the difference. O have issues whule walkung or exertion and have copd too. Your question is urging me to check the interactions given by the pharmacy. Since I am a cardiac patient with pacemaker and defibrillator I try and stay on top of info. Perhaps my being winded and weak is because it the interaction? Thanx for draeing attention. Please keep us updated? Feel better.
