Hi all! Curious to know how people went about finding a doctor to diagnose or treat asthma. I've just moved and I wanted to know what everyone's process looked like. Any websites to use? What criteria did you use?

How to find best asthma doctor
I know that medical organization ACAAI has an allergist locator ... here's the website URL: acaai.org/locate-an-allergist. Your primary care doctor may also be able to diagnose, or at least refer you to an allergist.
I think that seeking out MDs that belong to professional organizations is absolutely no guarantee of quality. Here are some questions that I came up with the help of my doctor: 1. do they have and use daily a spirometer (not peak flow meter) in their office? 2. does the physician always see patients every visit or do PAs or other non-physicians sometimes see patients instead for routine office visits? 3. Has the physician been a principal investigator for any phase 2 or 3 asthma clinical trials? 4. Does the physician have any particular expertise in inhaled medication devices and or drug delivery?
Just some thoughts... maybe too technical? anyway, here is a handout that my doctor has written which you can judge for yourself, helpful or not... good luck
