Hello ladies,

I am interested in the facebook group. How does one join. I am looking into options in UK and Germany. Is it cheaper in Germany? Would it be ok to be on your own in Germany. Typically how many times do you have surgery for Lipodema?

Hi there!

Here are 2 good groups dedicated to liposuction for lipoedema:

facebook.com/groups/TalkLip... (mostly ladies from the UK but many also had surgery in Germany)

facebook.com/groups/mylipoe... (many experiences from a large number of surgeons)

You click the "join" button and wait for an admin to add you (they may ask a few questions just to make sure that you are a lipoedema patient).

In my experience it is cheaper in Germany and I have seen many women going there on their own (they can even give info about hotels, travel, etc.). But of course the price is not the only thing that will determine which surgeon is right for you so it is good to gather more info and experience before making appointments. The number of procedures depends on you and the surgeon. Some prefer to treat one "area" at the time and others work with larger areas (depends also on GA or LA and technique).

Thank you for suggesting my Lipoedema journey! Indeed I have amassed before and after albums for 27 doctors mainly Germany which is the centre of LIpoedema treatment . Happy to help you x
