I am considering liposuction and have heard that Mr Karri in Hull does WAL method under local anaesthetic. I would like to hear from anyone who's had surgery with the Karri Clinic, and what they thought about it. Looking forward to any replies!
I've not had liposuction with Mr Karri but did go to see him. He is very nice. In the end I had surgery with Anne Dancey. If you look on Talk Lipoedema on Liposuction Facebook page, there are many women who have seen him. It's a closed group so you ask to join. Good Luck!
I had surgery in Belgium as liposuction denied re BMI .However just been given diuretics for acute oedema left untreated 3 yrs when pulmonary hypertension found this year after all cardiology tests showing no problem .
Would like to know the name of the Belgian doctor who treats Lipoedema, I have a list of. More than 55 doctors in Europe but no one from Belgium. Thank you very much

Thank you, that's really helpful. Can I ask why you decided to go to Anne Dancey rather than Mr Karri?
Anne is closer to where we live, as a woman I felt she would understand better how living with Lipoedema had been for me and her expertise is second to none! I also liked the fact that with Anne's patients, you stay in hospital 2 nights rather than being in a hotel nearby. That may have changed now though with Mr Karri . However, I really did like him and have no doubt that had Ann Dancey not been around, I would have gone with him. I have had 2 leg surgeries so far and am due to have my arms and a bit of revision work to my legs done early Jan. Recovery isn't easy...but would I do it agin? ....in the blink of an eye. I've lived with this for more than 50 yrs before getting a diagnosis!

I feel there is age & gender discrimination as the Specialist & surgeons are contracted in to various hospitals on remits so a second opinion & insurance cannot be obtained .It also appears to be directing so I seem to be going round in circles often blocked by those who should have taken ethical oaths.
Where is the research ? Compression is so archaic & doesn't work with congenital cellulitus & cardiac oedema ?
Also watch how you drive as Warwickshire which has traps ensnaring you speeding at 38 mph on an A road when unaware speeding & 2 hospitals of same type so didn't make it to appt initially .This is so time wasting & costly . I thought Drs had ethics ?
How are things for your now 10 month's down the line?

He is an experienced surgeon for lipoedema and I think it is at the very least worth booking a consultation with him and possibly meet another one or two, to see what they can propose and which one do you feel more comfortable going with (taking also in consideration things like aftercare, access to a hospital, costs, etc.).
