What I mean is having only just started my lchf journey, and have been feeling a bit done in , though much better now. What’s the thinking around exercise, is there a link to something I can read?

Is Running on lchf ok... only 2 weeks in?
Exercise is very important to me. I swim 50 x 25m lengths three times a week and cycle most days 12 miles. I ALWAYS exercise in a fasted state (swimming that is), then maybe mid-morning I'll have a cup of coffee with cream. I never feel hungry whilst exercising and breakfast is a distant memory. There is a side benefit in that exercising in a fasted state turns on autophagy, where cellular junk is recycled.
I've always exercised in a fasted state too and have felt great. No stitch, no cramps, just a great feeling. Here's a link for you dietdoctor.com/5-low-carb-f...
Same here. I occasionally have a hard-boiled egg about 60 minutes before my workout, but generally I haven't eaten since about 10:30am (I go to the gym at 4-5pm).
You might feel a bit odd if you've only just started, but a few weeks from now you'll feel much better than you ever did carb-fuelled. When I'm running, I only stop because I'm getting bored or my feet hurt, not because I'm tired.
That’s good to hear , I am gardening atm and feel really good, less full when I’m moving, hard to describe. And yes not as tired at all. Keep waiting for hunger to strike but as yet it hasn’t. Really liking how I feel today!
Hi AwfulToad! ( I’m sure there’s a story behind that name)😁 After having felt like I have a lot of energy I’m experiencing a dip. A bit of muscle weakness, feel it in my legs when running. My energy for gardening was great earlier in the week, so am wondering what’s happening. Still just entering 3rd week of lchf and am curious as to how things will go. There’s a bit of me that is sceptical still, like I am about any ‘diet’ so almost waiting for something to go wrong. Also I know it’s a bit knee jerk in that I have to give my body time, it’s having to change decades of functioning in a particular way. Is patience the key here? I’d love to have a long chat as you can tell!!😎
Yes I always run on empty (few cups of tea before I go)
I run about 20k a week and have been LCHF for the last few years
For the first time ever I ran in the morning before work and before breakfast! Just not hungry, the run was fine!
Hi helenwheels have you got posts from your lchf beginnings that I can see? I’m interested in others’ journeys. I wondered how you felt starting it and how it impacted on your body? You may be much fitter and lighter than me to start with and we’re all different I know but I’m curious, and want to manage my own expectations!
I don't really have a 'journey' to report. Couple of years ago and mid 50s I started to notice that I was putting on weight. I'm a bit vain and didn't want to be a rotund old lady! I did a bit of research and read lots of Michael Mosley and tried LCHF. It really suited me.
So I got back to a healthy weight and have maintained since. These days I just avoid bread/potatoes/rice/pasta etc, its very easy.
Good luck!
That sounds very simple really! good for you for making those changes 😁
