ROBOTIC SURGERY? INSURANCE PROBLEMS?

How many people are out there that had robotic surgery? ?Here in southern NJ not all doctors do surgery this way. I was lucky my urologist does. He actually wanted my tumor to be frozen and taken out that way but my insurance would not cover interventional radiology surgery so that is why I had the robotic one done.

Anyone else have problems?

Wife’s masses were to big for robotic surgery.

I had a partial nephrectomy done with the robotic surgery. Unfortunately my margins were positive afterwards but this was the only option given to me.

I also had a partial nephrectomy done robotically five years ago this December. It was the best decision I could have made (as I was given the choice between traditional or robotic). The scar was small and the healing time was fairly quick. I went to Kaiser, West Los Angeles, (CA) and it was a great experience.
