I’ve been so up and down the last few weeks I have a hard time even thinking positive. I’ve in the ER because I was afraid I had a blood clot in my lung that had just had radiation. I started taking my pain pills which I hardly ever take just made me so drowsy. My pain has had let up so I stopped the pain meds and I feel better today. I don’t have a clot :). I’ll see my dr tomorrow and he’ll let me know how my blood work looks on the new med. I’m trying to keep my head up, sometimes it’s hard but I know I need to keep fighting.

I get it, most of us have been there. It would be better to think long term and reach for the brass ring and grab it. There were times in my treatment that every day was a bad day. I just thought to myself, if I feel this bad just think how my cancer feels being bombarded with all this stuff.

I was really fortunate in that I am now NED after having stage IV Kidney Cancer. If I can do it, anyone can do it. I credit my wife, family and friends and their outpouring of love and support coupled with a positive attitude to my; Kicking Cancers A**.

Having said that, there will be bad days, just remember, your cancer is having a bad day too.

The drug called Nivolumab has just been fda approved for the use on kidney cancer you may want to check with your doctor to see if it is possible for you to be treated with it. I know it is very important to keep a positive mind set when going through this stuff. I have been off of the trial for about 3yrs now without any further treatments I am still having side effects, but it beets the alternative.

Thanks, I’ve tried the Nivolumab. I’m on Inlyta now. I hope it works. Trying to keep positive. It would be nice if all the other incidental things would stop happening.

I felt great on Nivolumab but unfortunately it didn't work. I'm now on Inlyta 3 mg twice a day. My first scan after starting on Inlyta will be the middle of January. Anyone aware of any exciting new medication for RCC?

They are releasing new ones. You just have to do the research.

Yes...we all do! It's always much more challenging during those rough spots. We must all stay as positive and up as possible. Take care and hope you are having better days😊
