Hi all.Does anyone have trouble feeling the cold. I'm always cold, even when the suns out. It has to be a heatwave for me to be comfortable. My work colleagues have the air-con on while I have a heater. Even in bed I have the duvet under my chin - am I unusual? xx

Hi Lynnek - No you are not unusual. I have two duvets on my bed and often wrap my dressing gown round me as well, even in summer. Yesterday I went to a meeting and noticed that the other ladies were wearing pretty summery short sleeved blouses, I had three layers including a long sleeved cardigan. I feel the cold terribly. So we would get on well together. NickyD
Hi NickyD. Glad to hear i'm not the only one - i've showed my colleagues your answer as they thought I was being akward when I mention i'm cold. They now have to see I am normal (as i can be) xx
I remember going shopping with a friend to some high class ladies shops and was looking at some very expensive pretty floaty dresses, that were very beautiful, strappy and thin. I said how much I liked them and was thinking about trying one on. She said they would be no good to me because "where would the vest go!". Kind of destroyed the moment.
You have to ask yourself what is normal...... NickyD
Hi Lynnek,
No I do not think you are. I feel the cold at night in particular but usually during the day I am OK. I think we just need a little less water in the golden nectar to help the blood circulate and another sweater!
Keep positive.
M Intresting you have asked this,my girlfriend thinks I am unusualy cold, she will have the windows open through the night but I want them closed, and my feet are always frozen,do you think theres a link, old people are always cold and a lot of them have lowering platelet counts???
Hi Lynnek I have been feeling the cold for a long time now. My hands always go numb first and I sometimes have to use fingerless gloves to type at work, I guess it's because our blood is so thin. xx
Yep me too, i hate the cold and air conditioning is awful! It's painfull to go swimming because the water is too cold in the pools! My husband keeps saying i've got Raynards because im so cold all the time. We have just got back from a 2 week holiday in Florida. The temperature was 90+ and i found it comfortable, the villa had air con set to between 76-80degrees and i was shivvering! It physicaly hurts to be cold & people just say "youve got no blood hahaha". I'm in remission at the moment but the cold still affects me.
I have been in remission since August 2010 but still feel the cold . Have always been cold and it mus be linked albeit all the specialists I have asked always say it is nothing to do with ITP. But they said that about tiredness/fatigue and they were wrong as it is recognised now as a symptom of ITP.
