Low Platelets for 2 years

Over last 2 years my platelet count has varied between 63 and 88. All other bloods are normal. I drink a lot of alcohol and it includes sweeterners . All other bloods are normal.

Should I be worried

Alcohol lowers platelets.

I would try give up the booze and see if your platelets improve a bit

Hi Marc.

I heard and even read it at lot of places that Alcohol is one major reason to reduce your platelet count. I advice try quitting it for some time and see how does it work with the count.

Thank you.

I’ve been drinking Strongbow which has sweetness too which I don’t think helps
