Low platelets

Hi my name is Georgia, I’ve had ITP since early 1990’s my lowest platelet count was 6K and have never had “blood blisters “in my mouth or lips only increased bruising and excessive bleeding after tooth extractions or lacerations. I’m currently on Nplate weekly injections to maintain my counts between 30-80K which allowes me to have a fairly active productive life. My platelets only drop to 10K or less during viral/bacterial infections or increased depression.
When were you diagnosed, what was your treatment regimen, what is your platelet count baseline, how often do have labs done, what’s your hemoglobin and hematocrit? Given your symptoms, l would say all values are low. Are you been followed followed by a hematologist? Sorry for all the questions as an ITP patient and a nurse I don’t understand why your doctors are unable to maintain your platelets a safe level

I also had them inside my mouth as well as on my lips and there was not much that could be done unfortunately and I just had to wait until my count rose above 10 before they went away. Mine also developed into ulcers which were quite painful and I was told not to not use a babies teething gel as it lowered your platelets. It was just a constant ritual of rinsing my mouth out when they would burst.
