Has anyone else had memory lapses because of high doses of prednisolone?

Like you Nicky I have found that steroids can impact on my memory and I understand that it is a well known side affect.
In my own case I also think that just the stress of having ITP and wondering what would happen next played a very big part in my not being able to concentrate properly on things and getting forgetful. I have certainly become a lot more settled and focus much better since I have gone into remission, undoubtedly because I have better peace of mnd in general
The problem with steroids as you have mentioned in your introductory post is that they impact on people in numerous different ways. I certainly had terrible mood swings, weight gain (about 12 KGs), craved food, increased blood pressure, palpitations, panic attacks and moon face as well as shingles. The one definite thing is that we all respond differently and get different side affects.
I wondered Nicky if you are a member of the ITP Support Association? For members they do have the means to put you in touch with a "Listening ear" who
is a nominated ITP Support Association volunteer who can talk through your case with you. Also another service which the ITP Support Association can provide is advice on referring your case for a second opinion. You may wish to contact them on.....
