Hope for curing
Hi my mother in law also suffers from ITP. We are consulting with the Hematologist. She is continuing with steroids prednislone 80 mg / day. But This has no permanent solution. Can be active with fruits diet like Papaya, Pomegranate, Soursop.
Don't worry, many are living long with this ITP, keep tracking about here platelet levels.
In this time her platelets is low. So she need to take prescription medications from her doctor.

I hope it's helpful for her. I take 6 capsules per day. Vitamin c, e, tanin, rutin, spirulina is good for her. More than that her feeling is always optimistic, comfortabe. Yoga, meditation or to do exercise is good too.
ITP can be utterly unpredictable. It can cause side effects (worse for some than others) like fatigue which can impact quality of life. However, for some people these side effects are temporary.
Stay positive. There are great specialists out there who understand the disorder very well.
But also, encourage your daughter in law to be easy with herself: if it is her first taste of poor health, it can be confusing and frustrating. Being glad for what good health she has left - focusing on what she can do not what she cannot will really help. And even if she wants to focus on what she cannot do - help her to talk through other alternatives. And know that for most, ITP blood counts and symptoms can be temporary (although might flare up again).
I wish you all the best in your supporting role.
