I have always had nose bleeds since I was a child and am more likely to have one just before a cold, so I don't look at IF I have a nosebleed but more how long they last. If it's couple of minutes I think it's clotting ok. If it's 30 mins or longer, then I would be more concerned. That's for me though and everyone is different. It's good to get tested often when first diagnosed because you can get a better idea of signs to look for when the numbers drop. It seems to vary so much from person to person. I was diagnosed nearly 10 years ago and get tested once a year now. Good luck with your count Thursday :)

The nose bleeds are tough. They never lasted longer than a few minutes for me but I'm constantly in meetings paranoid that suddenly my nose is going to gush. I was diagnosed with ITP back in November and my New Years resolution was to give gluten-free a shot. I've remained steady with a 55 platelet count and I haven't had a nose bleed in four months. That's huge for me. I'm not saying GF's the answer, but so far so good.

Good morning, I never had nosebleeds not even with platelets as low as five thousand. I have excessive bleeding with with dental extractions and lacerations. Have you seen an ENT (ear, nose & throat) doctor to eliminate abnormal nasal blood vessels which could be eliminated with simple office procedure. Did you hear about the latest baby born at 40,000 feet and are you going on holiday next month?? Kyriak51:)

You'll love Greece, I was born near Sparta. I hope you have time to check out the islands? Wouldn't be great if your nosebleeds stopped with easy procedure before your holiday? Kyriak51:)
