Has anyone encountered more eye redness or in general more susceptible to viruses ? Been to the eye doctor three times now on my eye redness -feel like my immune system is lowered

My eyes are red more often now. On occasion, they get very red. Hema had no idea why, or if it was associated with ITP.

I have recently had episode of iritis, inflammation of the iris. The eye hospital said it is connected to having been on steroids long term and now no longer taking them my own anti inflammatory hormones are not properly balanced. This is also the reason for my painful joints .

One of my eyes burst a blood vessel two days before I went on holiday and since coming back I find my platelets have dropped from 50 to 30 so now having romniplostin injections to bring them back up for a dental op.

Could be medication... I'm on Eltrombopag (Revolade)... I've not had infections or red eye... but it does make my vision blurry...

I am having ITP for 30 months now and have had red eyes all along. This is largely due to low platelets. If you are in steroids please also check for early onset of cataract in the eyes

Yes I do have early cataracts but not on steroids

I had optic neuritis 3 years ago and only partial sight in my left eye and now blurry eyed in my right eye pretty scary : ((((

I have early cataracts and steroid induced ocular hypertension. This now controlled by drops. Platelets currently normal.

I have been having difficulty with my right eye. It is blurry and difficult to see out of. It has diminished dramatically in the last few months. I also have developed tinitis and hearing loss in my right ear. The ENT doctor said hearing loss could be a result of ITP. It appears visual loss could be as well. Does anyone have more information on this?
