Mosquito bite

Just wondering, I was bitten by a mosquito about 9 years ago and 3 years later the lump that never went away then turned into a septic cyst the size of a golf ball so I was sent to hospital to have it lanced they preped me for general but did it under local as my platelets were 47 then and nothing was done about it ( I didn't realise the problem) 6 years later my legs were so bruised I went to the doctor who did a blood test and my platelets were 5! Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar thing happen with a mosquito as I think it could of been the reason for low platelets?
