Has any one had side effects of weight gain, hair loss with new growth being grey, rather than usual hair colour while using romiplostim?

Hi poppy5, I had thinning of the hair. I was told I would not lose my hair but the consultant did not say I would lose most of it. It has come back as before, same colour and same thickness so I am happy with that. My weight gain was due to steroids and not the romiplostim. Nicky

My hair has noticeably thinned since being treated for ITP — Prednisone, and later Rituximab. I've been greying for ages, though, so I can't blame that on the meds. I have found that the Hair, Skin, and Nails supplements sold here in the states seem to help at least arrest the loss. I'm not usually into supplements simply because I have a lot of allergies, but the hair loss hit me right in my primary vanity. Sometimes it's hard to determine (for me at least) what's due to the ITP itself, what to the medications, what to the stress, and what to the various interactions of those three factors.

My wife had steroids then rituximab therapy but did not experienced the hair fall but from last month she is on dapsone only and now facing the hair fall problem.
