ITP is classified as a rare disease with about 3000 to 4000 people in the UK suffering from ITP at any one time. There are 6000 rare diseases overall, with 3.5 million people in the UK suffering from one of these rare diseases. This equates to 1 in every 17 people. Collectively therefore RARE DISEASE ARE NOT RARE.

The ITP Support Association are delighted to support International RARE DISEASE DAY on 29th of February and there are some very simple things that we can all do to help....

1) Join Rare Disease UK for FREE at raredisease.org.uk, 2) Follow Rare Disease UK on TWITTER @rarediseaseuk, 3) Write to your local MP by using the template letter provided at the Rare Disease UK main website, 4) Follow Rare Disease Day on TWITTER @rarediseaseday, 5) Join the Facebook Group for Rare Disease Day, 6) Download the official logo, posters etc for Rare Disease Day from rarediseaseday.org, 7) Get invloved in local events which are advertised on the Rare Disease UK website.

Remember RARE DISEASES ARE COLLECTIVELY NOT RARE, WE ARE RARE BUT STRONG TOGETHER !!!!!
