Hi everyone, my husband was recently in intensive care on life support after collapsing at home. He is now thankfully on the long road to recovery but I found myself really struggling with not only dealing with everything while he was in icu but also once he had returned home to recover the rest of his journey. I felt like I was having a mental breakdown, struggling with the roller coaster of all the feelings, thoughts and emotions that were happening to me then I found the CRITICAL CARE SUPPORT NETWORK and started to join the weekly zoom drop in sessions. The sessions were for family and friends of those who had been or were still in icu and they were an absolute god send for me... just being with people who knew exactly how I was feeling, had dealt with the same thoughts and stresses is helping me so much. There is no pressure to talk, you can just listen if that's what you want to do. Everyone is so friendly.
I've gone from feeling so alone in all of this to feeling like I now have friends that understand how I feel.
I just wanted to let people who are in the same position as me know your not alone, there are people out there who can support you, listen to you, understand you... it has really helped me and they can really help you.
Please reach out to them if you need some support.
Much love
Jo
